Overland is located at 38°41′57″N 90°22′4″W (38.699051, -90.367797). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 4.38 square miles (11.34 km²), of which, 4.36 square miles (11.29 km²) is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 km²) is water.
Demographics

There were 7,356 housing units at an average density of 1,687.2 per square mile (651.4/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 73.3% White, 16.4% African American, 0.3% Native American, 3.2% Asian, 3.9% from other races, and 3.0% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 6.4% of the population.
